Immunotherapy study

Your feedback will help patients receiving immunotherapy treatment manage their symptoms and concerns.

Demographic: Currently receiving immunotherapy treatment for cancer in Quebec

Age: 18+

Location: Quebec, Canada

Compensation: $50

Our research team is developing a program to improve the screening and management of symptoms and concerns for patients, that will be easily accessible on an electronic platform. We are looking to partner with patients who are receiving immunotherapy treatment to help us design this program.

What does participation involve?

We invite you to participate virtually (over Teams or Zoom) in:

  • Two 90-minute workshops over a period of 10 months.
  • There will be 4 to 9 participants in each workshop.

The workshops will be held in person or via video- conferencing in the event that an in- person meeting is not possible.

* If you are not available for workshops, individual interviews are available

As part of your participation, the research team will ask you for your perspectives on the needs of patients and how our program can best respond to these needs.

Participants who agree may be video-recorded as part of a 20-minute, publicly available “trigger film” we are developing to illustrate participants’ experiences with immunotherapy treatment

We will also ask you to complete:

  • One 5-minute questionnaire at the beginning of your participation
  •  One 15-minute questionnaire at the end of your participation
  • You will also be invited to participate in an optional interview about your experience in the project

What are the benefits of participating?

You will contribute to the development of an electronic symptom screening program for patients receiving immunotherapy treatment which might eventually be used by health care professionals to improve patient care

Participants will receive $50 for their participation as  a token of our appreciation.

Who can participate?

Anyone who is 18 years of age or older and who is receiving immunotherapy treatment in one of the participating centre and comfortable to speak in either French or English.
