Patient-Report Outcomes (PROs) among patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor (ICI) therapy

This 2-year study aims to develop a real-world patient-reported outcomes (PROs) program to improve the identification and management of symptoms among patients receiving immune checkpoint inhibitor therapy (ICIs). e-IMPAQc will be used as a starting point, as it integrates the latest evidence in PROs and self-management, and its different components will be reviewed and adapted as needed to ensure fit to this new patient sub-group.

Project objectives

    a. Explore with patients with cancer receiving ICI and the multidisciplinary healthcare team the types of PROs that should be screened for, including determining the most appropriate timing and frequency of screening.
    b. Develop self-management resources to support patient empowerment in addressing symptoms.
    c. Explore the integration of PRO screening in clinical workflows and the requirements for the implementation (e.g., training needs).
    d. Examine the barriers and facilitators related to the IT infrastructure in the implementation of technology to deliver the PRO program, as well as the digital platform to be used.
